Palmistry
Reading of the Hands

Palmistry, the art of reading hands, it has been practised throughout the world for thousands of years. Although its exact origins are not known, ancient Hindu texts describe specific palmistry techniques. There is also evidence that palmistry was practised in ancient China, Greece and Rome. During the middle Ages, palmistry was the most popular form of divination in Western Europe. Today, it is used to read the personality and the events of our lives.

Palmists observe every detail of individual’s hands, from their size and shape to the lines on their palms. Each palmist has their own beliefs about what can be read on the right and left hands. In general, our passive or ‘inactive’ hand is said to contain information about our inherited characteristics, and our dominant or ‘active’ hand said to reveal information about our personal evolution and how we adapt to the changes and challenges life presents. During a consultation, the palmist reads the palm like a map, taking into account the lines, marks, fingers and the twelve ‘mounts’ the raised areas of the palm).
